This piece was inspired by Baglamukhi - one of tantra’s ‘Das Mahavidyas’. The iconography of Baglamukhi typically depicts her with a club in her right hand and pulling the tongue of a demon with her left hand, symbolizing her power to subdue and control negative forces, and also smash her devotee's misconceptions and delusions. To me this imagery signifies how she blesses her devotees with the power to overcome negative forces and dispel misconceptions and delusions.
